We haven't attended the event in years past because, you know, we don't have a dog.
Because they're too much work.
Just kidding!
We have a toddler.
We actually can't wait to get a dog someday.
Anyway, we decided to attend the event this year for a few reasons. One, we all love dogs. Two, our favorite book shop just happened to advertise that they would have educational assistance dogs around to read books with kids. We thought Emma might flip out (in a good way) at the chance to hang out with some dogs one-on-one, so off we went on Saturday morning.
She took her Ru-Ru with her. And, she wore her favorite shirt, which you shall see very shortly. It might involve a Ru-Ru on a surfboard.
Here was the sight when we turned our corner.
Are those all dogs?!
The dogs available to read books with the kids were really gentle and calm. Their names were Raven and Harvey. Harvey! I love that name.
We read a Clifford book with Raven,
and then Raven let us rub his belly.
We all wanted to bring him home!
