If You Can't Beat 'Em, Join 'Em

Minnesotans make the best of winter, that is for sure!

In late January each year is St. Paul's Winter Carnival. Our favorite part of the carnival is the snow sculpture competition, which is held at the State Fairgrounds. My school is attached to the fairgrounds so we get to see the sculptures a lot, both as they are being created (I always think the sculptors' hands must be SO cold!) and displayed to the public.

They are a huge draw for several weeks. Families come from all over with their bundled up kids to see them. Aren't they amazing?

Apparently there is an ice sculpture competition, too. We haven't been to it, but its right in the heart of downtown St. Paul.

If you're ever in town in late January or early February, we'll take you to see them!
