Pulling Up

Emma's new trick that she does pretty consistently now is pulling herself up using anything around her. Usually, it's us that she wants to use, but lately she's been wandering (we're not sure what to call her mode of transportation - scoot maybe?) over to random pieces of furniture. She can't quite get herself to her feet yet, but she's a big fan of hanging out on her knees.

Reaching...

...and success!

It reminds me a bit of when she started sitting unassisted. It was so exciting seeing her master something new but at the same time it was hard seeing her fall when she'd get unsteady. It seems we will have some more falling in our near future, as Emma learns what her body can do.

Seriously, how do kids make it through childhood for the most part unscathed? They take some hard falls!

And, for that matter, how do parents? :)
