New Words

Emma's been following directions like "Will you go put this boat with your bath toys?" for awhile.

When we read books and ask her things like "Where's Cookie Monster/the red balloon/the dog?" she points to each one.

She knows her body parts.

She makes the sounds of most animals.

It's only been in the last few weeks, though, that she's started saying more things. And, when she's not saying words that we actually understand, she's talking in what sounds like sentences in hopes or expecting that we're getting exactly what she's saying. It's a hoot.

So, here's what she's saying these days:

1. Dad
2. Mom
3. Kitty
4. Doggy
5. Bubbles
6. No
7. Yes
8. Hello
9. Bye-bye
10. Night-night
11. Chair
12. Cracker
13. Belly button
14. Milk

Of course, Dad comes out "da-da," Mom comes out "ma-ma," and other words come out in other ways, but you get the drift. She has "words" for all of these things, and it's so exciting.
