4 Month Appointment

Emma had her 4 month doctor's appointment last week! She weighs 14 pounds 8 ounces (75th percentile) and she's in the 75th percentile for head circumference and the 90th percentile for height. Since she only measured in the 40th percentile for height the last time she was checked, we think someone needs to buy a new measuring tape. We're not sure who but one of these days I'll get mine out and let you know :) Her doc said she's right on track developmentally and can do everything a 4 month is supposed to do and more.

She did have to have more shots - three in her thighs and one orally. I think she's learned that the doctor's office means pain because she started crying and acting afraid before the nurse even held her down for her shots. She hated them (of course) but she seemed to handle them better than the last time. She had a fever and sore legs that lasted two days but on the third day she was as good as new.

In other news, tonight Emma rolled from her tummy onto her back for the first time! Yay! Being the sweet thing that she is, she waited to do it on a night that her Daddy would be home. Her doc was telling us that babies used to roll over around 4 months because they slept on their tummys, but now that they sleep on their backs, it's more of a 6 month milestone. Six months is when she goes back for her next appointment.

Oh, and it's definitely fall here in St. Paul. The leaves on the tree in front of our house are a-turnin'.
